CEO Wins Business Executive of the Year

Onyx Group’s CEO, Neil Stephenson has been honoured with the prestigious 2009 Tees Valley Business Executive of the Year Award at this year’s North East Business Executive of the Year Awards.

The ceremony which was held at the Newcastle Marriot hotel on the 19th November was host to the regions champions of industry who were there to toast the finest that the North East Business world has to offer.

Neil fought off tough competition for the celebrated award, which he received from Alastair Thomson the Dean of Teesside University Business School, the Times University of the Year.

Alastair commented that, “in times of economic uncertainty it was impressive for a company to buck the trend and grow at such a pace; both organically and from acquisitions.” He went on to say that, “This was surely a reflection of the commitment and direction provided by Neil”.

Neil Stephenson, commented that, “The award is further evidence of a great year for Onyx Group which includes, 3 acquisitions, continued growth, being placed in the Times Tech Track 100 and also reaching the finals of the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the year”.

He continued, “I am really pleased to have received the award and have Onyx Group and myself placed on the same level as some of the other great winners”.
